Luv or Love!

In humility value others above yourselves‘ (Philippians 2:3 NIV)

If we value someone, we should also love and respect them. As people, we spend a large amount of time looking for love, that ‘special some-one‘ to share our lives with, ‘I will search for the one I love‘ (Song of Songs 3:2 NLT). We do not have to search any longer, Jesus came, and he said, ‘A new command I give you: Love one another‘ (John 13:34 NIV). When God was giving His laws to the Israelites, He said, ‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against a fellow [Israelite]‘ (Leviticus 19:18 NLT).

We have been, ‘cleansed from our [your] sins.. .. so now show sincere love to each other‘ (1 Peter 1:22 NLT), and because we are clean, we ‘who belong[s] to Christ have [has] become a new person‘ (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT). We need to live a life, following the example that Christ set for us, and, ‘Live a life filled with love‘ (Ephesians 5:2 NLT). We have known real love in our life, and it is the amazing love that God has for us (John 3:16). ‘This is real love – not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice‘ (1 John 4:10 NLT).

God loves us so much, ‘While we were still sinners Christ died for us‘ (Romans 5:8 NIV), ‘while we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled‘ (Romans 5:10 NIV). In John’s letter, he says that, ‘God is love, and all who live in love live in God‘ (1 John 4:16 NLT).

In his letter to the Corinthians, Paul used the analogy of us being a clanging bell if we are without love in our life (1 Corinthians 13:1), he continues saying that, ‘Love is patient and kind… not jealous or boastful or proud or rude‘ (1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NLT).

Love changes everything… … Love will never ever let you be the same‘ (Love Changes Everything – A Lloyd Webber).

now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love‘ (1 Corinthians 13:13 NIV).

Do we show the love of Christ in our lives?

I love you Lord; you are my strength… … my God is my rock, my fortress, and my saviour. Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life. I know that you will guide me along the best pathway, and advise me and watch over me. In your unfailing love, rescue me. Lord I love you, and know that your love surrounds me. Your love fills the earth, you unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens, so vast, that we can barely understand it; it is so precious to us, we find shelter under your wings of love. Lord, you love justice and hate evil, help us to be like you. Your love is better than life itself, my soul thirsts for you, as the deer thirst for water, lead me beside the still waters, and help me to be still and listen to you, help me to be still and know you Lord. In your love Lord, grant us our salvation, and I will sing of your unfailing love forever.

Psalms

Joyful joyful we adore You, God of glory, Lord of love
Hearts unfold like flowers before You, opening to the sun above
Melt the clouds of sin and sadness, drive the dark of doubt away
Giver of Eternal gladness fill us with the light of day (cause)

You are the One who saves, You are the One who saves
You are the One who’s hands lift us from the grave
You are the light of life, the everlasting day
You are the One who takes all our sins away

Joyful (the One Who Saves) (Our God is Near #2)

downloadFather God, in love please guide our lives that we may be used by you to spread the Good News to the people that we know and meet. Help us to be servants that have an attitude of gratitude for what you have done and given to us. Lord you are amazing in what you do for us, help us to follow your example in our lives, that we may share your love with others and change the world.
Lord we thank you for missionaries that travel and spread your word to various parts of the world, both local and international. Lord be with these people, protect them, shower them with your love, give them strength, love and wisdom to do your work in these sometimes difficult times.

Amen
